Ethnic prints are so trendy as fashion statement nowadays. I love some of the bold graphic prints I see out there.But since I have a petite frame I am at times hesitant about wearing them as I don’t want it to overwhelm me.
So here are couple of tricks of wearing them without looking like they are wearing you.
I love the way celebrity stylist Ali Levine rocked this Aztec Print Dress in one of her posts.
1. SINGLE FOCAL POINT
The graphic tribal or abstract prints are very dominating, so they should be the single focal feature of your outfit.It’s important to not have the whole look too jarring with excessive patterns and prints. I also like to keep my dress length short and accessories to a minimal with bold prints. This Cross Over Tie Dye Dress is a great example when you have a dress with graphic print it’s better to keep it simple everywhere else. This Vintage Print Jumpsuit is also a cool graphic printed look but I would be a careful with this if you are petite.
2.TEAM IT WITH NEUTRALS
Since the graphic print will be bold, match it with neutral or earth tones so that there is no clashing of colors or too busy look. This Abstract Printed Top is one of my favorites and I love to pair it with the brown fringe skirt.
3. SHORT AND SWEET
Sometimes a crop top or a sleeveless top is a great way of adding the graphic print. If it’s a bold busy colorful print like this Ikat Printed Top then less is more.This sleeveless trendy top is great for the Fall season. Match it with a long beige solid sweater or jacket and you are ready to make a statement. So a pair of shorts or a slim short skirt could be a great way to sport a bold printed blouse.
4. DISTRESSED LOOK
This is one of my favorite Kimono Jackets and I love to team it with distressed denims or shorts and white tee. It’s earth tones compliment the light blue of the denim.
5. BLACK IS ALWAYS IN
You can never go wrong with a Black and White pattern sweater. It is classy, sophisticated, chic and always makes you look slimmer.It can be dressed up or down as per the occasion. This Graphic Content Long Sweater will be one of my go to fashion pieces this fall.
